Freelance photography in Denver is all about surprises. I got a call from my pal U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen’s office during the shutdown, wanting to document the work and outreach that continues despite Washington gridlock.
We visited a food bank, a school for special-needs kids, a medical facility, and the Federal Center in Lakewood. Representative Pettersen was eager to hear how her constituents were doing amid funding suspensions, and they were happy to see her and share.
